The funny things that kids say!

Tonsils

Mahal and Chase had their tonsils out on the 25th of March and lets just say we are glad that we are on the tail end of getting better. Mahal did surprisingly better then I thought that she would. She had her tonsils and adenoids out and tubes put in her ears. The Dr. said that she had chronic tonsillitis and that they should have come out a long time ago. Poor girl!!She is still really cranky, but hopefully she will be a different little girl with eating, sleeping, and just feeling better overall. Now for dads turn.... everyone pray for him and us!;)

Dempsie's first smile!

Dempsie smiled at me for the first time on March 11th! I'm trying to do a better job at writing down all of her milestones. We love her and she is so beautiful!

Dempsie Lou Stewart

Our beautiful baby girl was born on February 7, 2013. Her name is Dempsie Lou Stewart! She was 6 pounds 14 ounces, 19 inches long, and was born at 2:15pm. She is So beautiful and we already love her so much!
By the time I got to 39 weeks I was ready to have this baby! I kept praying that she would come everyday, but I had to keep telling myself that she would come when she was ready. I decided to be induced....this was a really hard decision and I'm still not sure about the whole thing! I feel really guilty that I "made" her come and think that maybe I should have let her come on her own. Oh well! It's done and I did it. I'm not sure if I'll ever do it again with any of my other kids, ask me again when I'm 39 weeks with them and i might be singing a different tune!
The morning that i was scheduled to have her was crazy! I had to get up at 5am and call L&D to make sure that they had room for me and schedule a time to come in. They go first call first served. I actually called at 4:57am hoping that I was the first caller and was the second. My fear was that I would have to wait all day to get in. Luckily, they told me to be at the hospital between 7 and 7:15. When we got to the hospital they checked us in, started me on patosin and then the waiting game began.

Disneyland and GO BIG RED!

We were so lucky to be able to take Mahal to Disneyland again this year! Also, this year was an away game for us to go see the Huskers!! We had so much fun! We killed two birds with one stone because the game we went to was at UCLA and we were close to Disneyland. Mahal loves Disneyland! Nani, Papa Flint and Chase came with us this year! It was a perfect time to go to Disneyland because there were hardly any people. The only complaint was that it was way HOT for this time of the year.

 DISNEYLAND!!!

This is the new cars ride! Way Fun!

On Main street watching the parade!

The Husker game was so fun!! We always love seeing all of the people that come for them. There was a see of red at this game! The only thing that was a bummer was the HEAT and they lost. Other than that, how many times in your life due you get to go to the Rose Bowl?

We went to the ocean one night and it was surprisingly warm! Mahal loved it!

We had such a great time in California! We are excited to see what family trip we will plan for next year! Mahal says Disneyland but i think we'll take a break from that for a year.:)

Stitches

About three weeks ago, Mahal got her first set of stitches!! Right smack between her eyes on her forehead. On Sunday July 1st, at two am, I heard her fall off the bed and she started screaming. I grabbed her and didn't really think anything of her being hurt, just that she was more in shock that she fell off. So, I put her back in bed and she cried for about 15 minutes and then went back to sleep. Well, during the night she kept waking up like every 15 minutes and she would tell me that her head hurt. Finally, at like 5 am I grabbed my phone and flashed the light at her face and she had blood all over. I told Adrian to get up and that she was bleeding and we turned on the light and the gash on her head was horrible! We got dressed really fast and drove to the ER. She got about 8 stitches on the inside and 8 on the outside. I felt so bad that I didn't get up earlier to check on her!!! All night I had this feeling to get up and look to see if she was o.k. and I didn't act upon it. I guess I learned my lesson!!!! Then when we went to get the stitches out, the guy that took them out at the ER missed at cut her open even more. It was so sad to see her cry and be in pain. I hope that it will heal well and If not she can just join my scar club;)!

I am going to make her walk around with band aids on her forehead for a long time so that the sun doesn't make the scar worse!
